Elizabeth Perkins, DVM
Chief of Staff
With over 15 years of clinical experience, Dr. Elizabeth Perkins joined the Burlington Veterinary Hospital team in January of 2020. Prior to BVH, she spent over 14 years at Fresh Pond Animal Hospital in Belmont, and her first year in practice in New Hampshire working in a mixed (small and large) animal hospital. She received her doctorate in veterinary medicine at Tufts University, and her bachelors in Molecular biology and Biochemistry at Wesleyan University. She enjoys relationships with patients and their families, seeing herself as a partner in the pet’s care. She aims to work collaboratively with clients to create wellness and treatment plans for their pets that serve the patient and the family. As a team, everyone in the hospital plays an important role with the common goal of helping animals we serve.
She came to Burlington Veterinary Hospital after meeting with Dr. Meade and the staff, as she felt the hospital Dr. Meade formed over many years would be a collaborative match. Through discussions on ethics, leadership, commitment to learning and being a steward of the hospital’s mission, Dr. Meade has elected to transfer hospital leadership to Dr. Perkins as he looks ahead to some well deserved time off. Although it was difficult for her to leave a long term position, she was excited to join the Burlington Vet Hospital family. She enjoys being part of a hospital that has served the community and it’s staff with integrity and care, with the mission to "to make a positive difference in people’s lives, and to provide the highest level of medical, surgical and welcoming care to the pets that are entrusted to us."
